Bottle in my hand, heart like a rebel

Thought I was big, but I couldn't see

The sheriff was waiting just for me

Stumbled out the bar, half past ten

Sheriff's flashlight caught me in my sin

Staggered down Main, my knees were weak

The sheriff's glare made my future bleak

I was drunk and stupid, couldn't set myself free

When morning came, he let me be
