We cannot alter the decisions we have made

But given time the scars we left behind will fade

Benjamin moved into a room that had once belonged to the children

In March of 1966, Benjamin and Elowen celebrated Locryn's twenty-second birthday

They weren't to know, however, that Benjamin has also aged in his own particular way to the age of twenty-two

He was now the same age as his son

Over the following one hundred and seventy-six weeks, every Sunday morning

Benjamin picked fresh flowers from the garden to brighten Elowen's bedside table

And walked with her over the cliffs and along the coastal path to the parish church and the graveyard beside it

Where they would visit their daughter, Lowen

If we are young

What is young?

We can't hold on to all the years we might have lost

For holding on can come at much too high a cost

And a life is always more than it appears

For a life cannot be measured by its years

If we are old

What is old?

We're all dropping down the ladder rung by rung

But a person can be old and yet be young

For a life is but the sum of all its parts

A memory of moments in our hearts

There's still time

We still have time

Each sunday morning, their walk would take them approximately one hour, twenty-two minutes and fifty-four seconds

Ending at the lane that led to the bottom of their garden

But one sunday morning, July twentieth, 1969

Benjamin and Elowen's walk did not end at the bottom of their garden

But took an unexpected detour 41 miles south to the Royal Cornwall Infirmary

We cannot choose when we arrive upon this earth

We can't control the circumstances of our birth

But we have time

And we cannot predict the length of our last breath

We all have time

Even in the moment of our death

We have time

We still have time
