What Happened

What makes you not be able to relate

Is that freeing or is that insane

I try not to intervene

Cause nature finds a way

To either correct the blind spots

Or select for a better trait

Even if you feel that way

We're not worlds apart

Don't watch the past for too long

Cause the afterimage scars

And I know in my heart

That only our clothes and cars have changed

As these centuries pass

I look back and see your face

There was a lightness to the mood

Driving around with nothing to do

I know you've long forgotten me

But I still smile

When I think about you

Not convinced that right now I'm awake

Ask my relatives how long can I stay

Don't wanna go back into that plane where forms decay

And the signs of life are less now

Cause nothing moves away from pain

Another turn around the sun

Things are over before they start

The points between us grow so unknowably far

But I know in my heart

That only the clothes and cars have changed
