Lyrics

Ugh, they call this lunch?
This compost conference is supposedly renowned for its snacks
Another diaper? Ugh
Another plastic bag?
More bits of glass
Disposable coffee cup?
Humans, they don't know what's good for them
Who would want to eat this?
Not us
Our region's only commercial compost facility
Is finding literally
Tons and tons of non-compostable items
In our precious mounds of brown
And what you sent to that facility turns into
The soil for your gardens and your fields and your food
Contamination?
No!
Dirt creation?
Yes!
So we're sending out an S.O.S
Save our soil
By knowing what you're throwing in the compost bin
S.O.S
Save our soil
Cause compost is a circular system
Oh, oh
Where to begin?
Talk to the bin
The trimmings from the yard
And the scraps from the garden
Make the healthy soil that sequesters the carbon
It's smart and it's starting the cycle again
You can even give me meat
I love nitrogen
Circularity's inherent
Just ask the carrot
Yo, I grow in this dirt so take it from me
That a cyclical ring of circularity
Would bring total ecological prosperity
With materials and nutrients used endlessly
Now let me wrap this up
And I will be succinct
We can either make the shift or go extinct
Carrot mic drop!
Let's make some compost!
As we convert your food wastes
Into something magical
It'll scooch your species closer to a life sustainable
Remove the rubber band stickers and twist ties
So we can help new plants to grow
And all we need to succeed
Yes, all we ask to complete the task
Is that you think before you throw
So we're sending out an SOS
Save our soil
By knowing what you're throwing in the compost bin
SOS, save our soil
Cause compost is a circular system
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Yo, compost is a circular system
