Get Happy Quick Fix

It’s been a rough couple months

So I had a glass of wine

To try and unwind my mind

‘Cause I’ve been so on edge

And afraid of what goes bump in the night

But the wine just makes me sad

And the thought creeps in that maybe this is all there is

There’s so many ways

To get yourself down

All it takes

Is fifteen minutes with the wrong guy, a strong wine, and a couple of crossed lines

I want a get happy quick fix

Even sober and dry

It’s funny how easily

I find myself daydreaming

Of disaster

Don’t need help to get myself in the dumps

And I spend my energy

Trying to teach my head to think

Of the good things

And reminding my lungs to breathe

To get yourself down

All it takes
