Where have you been, when did you go?

Didn't seem so long ago that you left home

Now the ground splits open wide

Leaving me here stuck inside all on my own

We can't find rhyme or reason

To this a change in seasons

I mar a shattered wasteland

Nothing left where I stand

Try to escape these places

Surrounding unfamiliar faces

Turn my head to the sky

13 months have passed me by

Was the road so goddamned rough?

That you never had enough to just get by

But now I look into your eyes

That make a bleak disguise for what you hide

What's said is understated

A life lived masqueraded

They always need reminding

The shape of truth and daydreams

The fairytales and folklore

That we all live and die for

But all you did was survive

The 13 months that you're alive

I see you 13 years from now

And I have to wonder how you did so well

Left to ponder in the past
