It was the first day of life

Today's your first day so smile

Don't disappoint us and watch your back

This is your test

I was taught to read, to write, to stick around

I was told don't cry, that it was just to try

And I bought all in and I faked a smile

I was told I was being watched

To perform as if for cash

Sooner or later you'll be catched

I never understood, bothered, or cared

I felt the need to leave just never dared

So I stuck around, and I heard my sound

I met those who were like me

These seemed to care, these seemed to dare, oh yeah

Although I was weak they showed me the peak

They showed me the world that needed to be

Through lies and cries I was brought to life

But no more tears will I let me live in the fears

Though time seemed to fix pain

My wounds only took a turn for the worse

I made my way out

The test is done and now the wait begins
