Running on a Pilot Light

I've been running on a pilot light

Just a flicker, but it keeps me going

Lately, it's been so hard to find

Every night I get a little low

But every day I get a little bit closer

To finding out that it's been here the whole time

Oh, and when it's dim, I know it's temporary

Even when I'm close to empty
