In a room safe from despair

Now, the older I get, the harder it is to hear what you've been saying

Thought I was guarding your heart

Turns out I was the one doing the breaking

And I'm sorry I couldn't tell

It's just glitter on the dress

That's the power you possess

But those shadows in your mind

Make the beauty hard to find

So I taught you how to hide behind denial
