A Little Too Different

It's so crazy bein' me

That I truly did believe

That I would live to see me livin' my dream

That I would be the first of my kind

But it hurts, sometimes

What I sacrifice to live this life

To get to this point where I'm on some sort of brink

But mentally, I feel like I'm about to sink

And there's no turning back

My only option is to rap

Then I dropped out of college to follow this path

There's a madden of the math

How 11 years have passed

To me, holding on to a dream that has been scratched

Tell the Medes going nowhere when I'm everybody's hero

But the labels say no people watching my video

Emailing me about how I saved their life

Listening to me makes them feel alright

That it's okay to be different from what they see

And my music validates them and puts them at ease

I am a little too different from them

So then they don't think I can, fit in on the television, and sell my music

But when they realise that my music sells itself, 'cause I'm not like everybody else

So I'll be gone, and I won't need their help, I won't take their help

There comes a time in your life when you gotta make a choice

When you know it might get wet, but it's really only moist

When it rains, you know it pours

It's like a mental war

When it's good, it is great

That's what I'm in it for

For the people that are stuck

Near their down, and out of luck

That are aided and are lonely

To get them off their rut

Or it least off a peace for a moment

If at least decease mentally

Gives thought to increase

And find a, a glimpse of hope and

Maybe feel pleased with their life for a second

Maybe they can see

That people like me can meet people like them

We just ebb through the struggle, be content to the end

I am not gonna let the hate delegate how I live my life

I won't be ashamed

I am who I am, no maybe not depends

This is me, only me

I'm not gonna bend

I am a little too different from them

So then they don't think I can

That's what people respect about me

I am not gonna change

The righteous path, the honest path
