The leaves fall down in whispers low

A golden rain of letting go

Your shadow lingers in the shade

The ghost of love we once had made

We meet beneath the amber sky

Your silence cuts

I can't ask why

The cracking twigs beneath our feet

It follows near

A chill of fear

The leaves may fall
