Dreams Above My Bed

I can't get to sleep, I think of the implications

Of diving into deep and complex situations

Especially at night, my mind runs wild and free

Creating tales and twists of what might never be

The clock keeps on ticking, it's a twisted joke

There's hours stretched like days in endless mental smoke

I know it's just my mind playing tricks on me

Imaginary fears that just won't let me be

Around and around, I go in my own maze

Every turn and twist lost in this haze

Will I find a way to clear this foggy head?

And unlock the gates to dreams above my bed

I whisper in the dark, a ghost without a face

Fading thoughts and doubts, running in a race

I close my eyes and breathe, try to break the chain

Of sleepless nights pounding my brain

Under the moon, shadows start to fade

In the silence, I find the peace I've made

Worries drift away, light bleeds in the wind

Maybe I'll find rest when my dreams begin
