Life can be so hard and confusing at times

When I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel

The sun no longer wants to shine

When I'm finally able to get my head above the water

My heavy burdens start drowning my mind

And when I think I've finally found love

I find myself heartbroken and crying again

Lord when does it end? When will I ever breathe again?

For the last few years I cried and hid my tears

Lord I'm desperate for peace within

I'm glad you call me friend, and you hear every prayer that I send

But right now I'm so broken, and my hope has run thin

So I run to you

I'm not a stranger to these dark roads

Been here so long that I can travel with my eyes closed

I'm near you father but can't see ya through my blind fold

I need your fire in my heart because it's iced cold

Just being honest with you now because I know you know

These extra burdens I've carried are getting hard to hold

I'm doing my best to keep on moving with this heavy load

I'm doing my best to fight depression so I don't fold

I got so many prescriptions, gotta pay a counselor to listen

Cuz all my friends end missing, but they don't know my condition

Most days I'm stuck reminiscing, bout perfect times now it's fiction

I'm not afraid to keep it real even though I'm a Christian

I'm wishing, these rainy days don't overcast the good

And I wish that all my circumstances go the way they should

I know you wouldn't put more on me but you knew I could

And I know you seen the best in me without a second look

I never knew a broken heart can carry so much pain
