Walking past the street lights next to the stream
Walking as slow as the pace of my thoughts
Sound of footsteps and some water
That's all I hear
Strangers approach me from my back with their shadows
Almost to touch my skin
Yet we're on the two edges of a strand
Not even close, but apart
Is there
Just as much space between us
Even when our shadow selves meet at the dead of night
No air to flow
Our bodies so tight
Walking past the street lights next to the stream
Walking as slow as the pace of my thoughts
Sound of footsteps, some water
And some strangers passing me by
