A prisoner of my own afflictions Notches on the walls from the years passed I just never saw them I was blind to reason And time moved on Now that I’ve aged I can see it coming Foresight of the decline I’m hearin’ voices in my head I don’t know what to think And my life just keeps on moving’ So I’m terrified to fuckin’ blink I’ve been stuck in the past And now I’m spinnin’ out Don’t know what I’m doin’ God forbid let you win Damn Losing all interest I’m becoming lethargic I can’t even get out of bed And I’m so stuck in my head That there’s no getting through to me The depression’s getting worse and worse And I try to coerce myself into a better mindset But my efforts are fruitless Further attempts are useless I’m losing friends left and right Because I shut them out I locked myself inside Eventually I’ll let some daylight in And start the cycle over again
