Lyrics

(Narrator)
Mina woke up this morning and didn't recognize her face in the mirror
So she walked downstairs
Had a cup of coffee
Trying not to cry at 9 am
She didn't get enough sleep but she never does
She didn't eat breakfast and she's stuck on her cellphone
It helps turn her brain off and let her subconscious take over
So she can be alone a while
She walks through the woods behind her house
Hoping to mediate and quiet her mind
But she finds a dead rabbit and thinks of its children
Which doesn't help at all
If you're trapped in your own head
And you go to war with yourself
Every night beneath the starlight
Attempt not to accept that this is
The rest of your life
Mina woke up this morning with the weight of the world
Sitting on her shoulders
Cus she stayed up all night watching YouTube videos
Of the awful things the Nazis did
She cried and ate popcorn till the sun came up
Then drove to school with her eyes still teary
Thinking of genocide
And how much suffering can fit into just one lifetime
She lied in her bunk bed at 2 pm for four hours
So she could just look at trees
Their shadows are haunting
Crawling the earth's surface
Trying to hide from the sun
If you're trapped in your own head
And you go to war with yourself
Every night beneath the starlight
Attempt not to accept that this is the rest of your life
I can't imagine a world without you here
So just hold on
Hold on for life my dear
Oh they're all out to get you
But that won't get you down
As long as you have your noise-canceling headphones
You won't have to face the violent sound
If you're trapped in your own head
And you go to war with yourself
Every night beneath the starlight
Attempt not to accept that this is the rest of your life
I know you're trapped in your own head
I watch you go to war every night
So pick up your weapons and stay alive
Let go and accept that this is the rest of your life
