High up in the mountains, where tall oaks grow free

Spring the gurgling fountains in the midst of the trees

The winds whisper softly to the eagle in flight

So graceful and lofty nature's delight

Soar, on mighty eagle, on a gentle breeze

High above the valleys, beyond the tallest trees

As free as the sparrow, and the songs that I write

In the heaven of heavens, nature's delight

In the cleft of the mountains, where freedom does ring
