If you were by my side we'd spend the evening by the tree

Talking about our lives and how this love came easily

Waiting for Santa Claus to climb on down the chimney

And when we hear the footsteps on the roof we'd hide and peek

But you're not here so I'll just go to sleep

You'll find me dreaming

That I'm not alone

Where we'll make snowmen out

Of marshmallows

And melt them in

Mugs of hot cocoa

Cold as it may be

As frost collects

On our windows

We'll be cuddling under pillows

Watching all of our favourite shows

I'm sitting by the fire watching flames dance to the beat

Of Christmas carols that remind me you're not here with me

Go for a walk and I see couples strolling down the street

And then I think about how lonely Christmas trees must be

Well does that mean I'm like a Christmas tree

I'm looking all pretty

With no one to hold

And you're not here so I'll just go to sleep
