You called it endgame and I believed you

I blame myself, because I didn't mean to

It's so unlike me, like to keep things lightly

Thought I brushed it off, but I still pictured you beside me

I have loved and I have lost and made mistakes

Learned on the way, it's give and take

Craving to feel something, I usually end up in pain

Had to learn so many lessons

All the while forgetting what I have

I'm moving slow, because I know by now how quickly moments pass

I wish I had a spell to cast, make this one last a little longer

Stay in motion, I keep flowing, bending, growing

'Til I'm turning to an ocean

I am never standing still

Always knew, I'd carry gold inside my soul

But had to break for it to show

I grow and let it overflow

No holding back, no walls, no masks

Just skin and bone

And I watch the sky, see you and I, in a past life

Just like the stars, a golden dust of what once was

Is left behind, but they're long lost

A fading light, that long has died

Like me, when you held me in your arms
