For My Good (Interlude)

All I ever wanted to do was sing

I was the little girl at talent shows

The teenager posting YouTube videos in her room

Music has always been a part of who I am

And something in me always knew

This is what I was made to do

But I didn't quite know who I was then

And my search for identity and validation

Brought me through a series of heartbreak

Which led to some of my darkest moments

I found myself questioning my worth

My gifting, my purpose

Which bred deep roots of insecurity and hurt

No one knew

But I wanted to walk away from it all

Then God met me

In the middle of my brokenness

And I began to discover who He is

And what it means to be loved

Wholly and completely by Him

It was that very love that began healing me

Teaching me who I am

And breathed new life within me

I can never be the same

Now I'd be lying to you

If I said I never experienced hurt

Or struggled with negative thoughts again

I just now see them in a different light

As part of a bigger story

I've learned that God can take every piece

The joy, the pain, the broken

And create something beautiful out of it

Nothing is wasted

And everything that was meant to harm me

God, in His loving kindness
