Friends trying to conceive naturally

Sometimes it feels like we're alone

Out on this journey on our own

Why don't I seem to want what I'm supposed to?

Should I start to worry?

And is assimilation right for me?

Segregation's in the air

There's gender separation everywhere

Buy blue for boys and pink for girls

Skirts for ladies, suits for men

Hen dos, stag dos, girlie nights and guys' weekends

It's everywhere we go and it never ends

But when you scrutinise it

You'll find there are infinite other valid ways

To live a life that doesn't fit the mould

Maybe that's "too queer" for you

If that sounds too left-field for you, that's ok!

But please step out of my way
