Lyrics

I sat on a rock in the middle of the lake
I could see the moon through a gap in the clouds
Orion rose diagonally on the left
So I knew that the way I was facing was South
I felt like a graft on the trunk of a tree
Like I'd never be part of this superset being
I listened to the wind
Blowing the moon across the sky
And I wondered when I'd finally be free
I got up and made my way back to the shore
When I got there I turned a quarter-turn right
The moon's in the east and it only just rose
I could run towards the burning magnesium light!
If I walk towards the moon for long enough
Will I go flying away?
All I need's a ten-foot pole and a treasure map
To live up there someday
Because I like to keep my body warm and my face cold
And a garden on the moon's the perfect place to grow old
I walked on a tangent that's parallel to the surface of the earth
At the point where I was on my way
It started to feel more like climbing a very tall tree
So I climbed and climbed and climbed
My eyes shield my mind like aviator goggles
And I haven't felt real in a very long time
The moon dust is yielding and
Just like a kid now my bedroom ceiling is covered in stars
If I walk towards the moon for long enough
Will I go flying away?
All I need's a ten-foot pole and a treasure map
To live up there someday
Because I like to keep my body warm and my face cold
And a garden on the moon's the perfect place to grow old
If I walk towards the moon for long enough
Will I go flying away?
All I need's a ten-foot pole and a treasure map
To live up there someday
Because I like to keep my body warm and my face cold
And a garden on the moon's the perfect place to grow old
