Lyrics

Once we wanted to be
We were once young and alive
And climbed into bed as though between the sheets was a valley
Where dinosaurs still breathed
And with flashlights torched on in the dark
We would capture these triceratops and brontosauruses
From the pages between our fingers and wonder the thunder of their feet
How loud the sound of their yawp
How large the weight of their hearts
How large the thunder in ours
Dinosaur, no veggie, all carnivore
Midlife crisis, gotta fight, this is art of war
Relationship, kids gotta raise them right
Don't let the dark engulf, gotta face the light
About face, pace right then left
Slow motion over no motion, I'm blessed
I recognize the thresholds of negative stress
So I drop a few lines to get it off my chest
Off my mind and out of my system
I'm never living in the past, I'm way too persistent
Dino eggs getting cracked, I eat a T-Rex for breakfast
Hop in the Astro Van, slapping hands with J-Magic
This voyage is fantastic
Flip the script on a wack-ass actress
My whole game get galactic, it's time for some action
Amongst the lightning of these thunder lizards we ran
Our imaginings turning in awe until daylight came like an asteroid
And we were opened with a taste of reality
With the smoke that rose out of the homes and the corners
We once climbed through, the school desks upon which we once drew
The windows that sat open through which we once flew
Now fossil bones, asteroid smoke
And once dreamers of dinosaurs inside the morning's dew
Into my mind and out of my system
I'm never living in the past, I'm way too persistent
Dino eggs getting cracked, I eat a T-Rex for breakfast
Hop in the Astro Van, slapping hands With J-Magic
This voyage is fantastic
Flip the script on a wack-ass actress
My whole game get galactic, it's time for some action
Dinosaur, no veggie, all carnivore
Midlife crisis, gotta fight, this is art of war
Relationship, kids gotta raise them right
Don't let the dark engulf, gotta face the light
About face, pace right then left
Slow motion over no motion, I'm blessed
I recognize the thresholds of negative stress
So we dropped a few lines and get it off our chest
