My sister called me yesterday

She was asking if I've been okay

She hadn't heard from me in 23 days

How could I sit and tell her why

I ain't been sleeping well at night?

So I danced around the pain

All that I could say was

I got a brand new tattoo

Caught up with a friend from junior high

And things ain't ever been better 'tween him and I

But she don't know, when she's on the other line

I got coffee with a friend of mine

She asked what's going on in life

I've gotten good at this, so I said

Those front porch flowers finally bloomed

Scuffed up my blue Lucchese boots

I don't doubt his love when he looks in my eyes

But she don't have a clue that, this whole time

When he got upstairs, he climbed in bed and said
