Someone's opinion of you, does not have to become your reality And ladies and gentlemen I started working on my dream And most people don't work on their dreams. Why? For many years, I didn't. One is because of fear The fear of failure. What if things don't work out? They end up becoming very cynical about life And they throw in the towel on themselves And on their families, and on their dreams I know what's waiting for me, don't wanna sleep When you run from your nightmares Runnin' in place and, I can't lengthen my lead When you run from your nightmares Go after something that seems just out of reach When you run from your nightmares You just might end up chasin' your dreams Yeah, uh. We spend so much time on which way to go That we never even get out of the blocks But that's the way it goes. Hey, you know? It's never too late to pick up the pace and chase them goals Pain arose, them aches and moans, it takes its toll Mistakes and falls can break you Gotta outpace'em when you race for no matter which way you run You gotta get steppin' in any direction Man, gotta lace 'em up And face the tough positions you'll be put in daily And the day gonna come when the next 12 hours Gonna be a little harder than the last ones was Cause we're gonna punish what we run from Got enough trouble trying to wake up When being awake is harder And your next day, is the best day Get a fresh slate. Go and get started Make something happen instead of just being trapped up in your mind It's gonna be fine Fuck what they talking about if they hollering off on the side You gotta ride Nobody else is gonna be the one to step up in the fight This is your life! If you at war with yourself, then put your toes up on the line When you close your eyes, just know that you'll be fine Because a dream can't die if you keep trying I know what's waiting for me.
