We rode around with shotguns

Everybody had one in their truck

And that old screen door

It was always standin' open

Everybody knowin' it wasn't locked up

And we never had to worry 'bout a thing

We had a dirt road underneath our feet

And Old Glory flying high in every yard

Yeah, and probably to some, it didn't look like much

But we always had enough

And those whippin's always hurt more

When you had to pick your own switch

But we were tough

And we didn't sweat the small things, no matter what
