Rain falls upon my face

Deathly hands reaching out for me

Long is the road I've walked

The end draws near with a price I will have to pay

Chains bound around my chest

Open wounds now mark my flesh

Closer the darkness ebbs

Beckons to me as I take the final step

Stare into his eyes

His touch, takes the pain inside

Fear, starts to fade away

A final gift before the end

Glance at the shrouded face

Welcomed into his embrace

Pulled, from this mire of strife

The sun sets one last time

Now, the price is paid

Peacefully, my light now fades

Expel, the final breath

Taking, the final step

Mind, no longer aches

Forgetting, the past mistakes

Have joy, where once you wept

As I take the final step

Time to take my leave

An end, to this reprieve

Speak, a last farewell

Surrender
