Sure Does Make a Life

Came across this box of letters

Notes and memories enough

We were just a couple kids then

Owning nothing more than love

Got a job and bought a trailer

Played some notes along the way

From the sounds that I was hearing

Your beauty must have made

Who would have known dear

Looking back there we did something right

Good seed was sown here

And this may not make a movie

But it sure does make a life

Singing songs there on the back porch

In the Indiana rain

We settled down in this quiet town

Where most things never change

And the children we had raised and loved

We knew one day would leave

I guess that's how it's supposed to go

Those were the best years
