Crunching numbers realizing that if everything works out

Maybe I could afford myself a small house

I could subsist on fast food and grilled cheese

For every meal as long as the going rate stays the same

Maybe I could hold out and play the long game

Save up all my money and bet it on super bowl day

It’s a long shot, but I’ll give it a chance

And if I fail and I ask for a hand out I’m sorry in advance

I know the future seems bleak

But when you’re around me

Happily ever after seems attainable

By just the way you laugh over the phone

And when I look passed now

I think the cards are stacked up against me to somehow make this out

But if I have these memories I don’t care if I make my parents proud

Yeah this cyclical nature it leaves unnerved

Living every day to die inside as I go to work

Wish I could show ya the scoffs that I see

People ask me about my future and I

I kinda freeze

So I’ll crash my car in the ravine

Of this stream of thoughts you find obscene

I’ll take every chance, and I don’t care if I fail

Cuz if I can’t write a page two there’s no story to tell
