Vanishing

I wrote her name upon the sand

But waves came and washed it away

Again I write with a secondhand

But the tide came to make its prey

Our fleeting world in disarray

It melts and all decays

Grace and goodness thine

Blessed love of mine

All that remains is a cosmic scene

Vanishing in time

Your precious love and lovely eyes

Universal prize

A mortal thing to immortalize

But our love eternalized

So die in dust, but live in fame

Heaven writes your glorious name
