Lyrics

Lessons on the Wind
Written By: Carmela Pedicini
Storms and fires get worse each day,
Waters keep on rising.
Another plague takes more away,
But it's always "others" dying.
We hear but we won’t face the facts,
Wring our hands but fail to act.
Look for hope then turn on one another.
Sickness, lies, religious wars,
They haunt our daily feed.
Scroll on past, then swipe away,
Buy stuff we don’t need.
Wave our rifles in the air,
Casting blame everywhere.
Wrap our fear in ignorance and hate.
It’s dying right before us,
Dying right in front of you.
Time to hear the lessons on the wind.
Dying right before us,
Dying right in front of you.
Time to own the burden of our sins.
Take time to listen now,
To all the sounds around us.
Cries, howls, barks, and growls,
Trying to arouse us.
Histories the old ones shared,
All gone now and we don’t care.
They were warning us of things to come.
Our fate is in the hands of those,
Whose eyes are not yet blinded.
Can we teach them not to hate,
But act with love and kindness.
The future’s now not days away,
We’re out of time too late to pray.
We need more than all those thoughts and prayers.
Kids dying right before us,
Dying right in front of you.
Time to hear the lessons on the wind.
Kids dying right before us,
Dying right in front of you.
Time to own the burden of our sins.
Dying right before us,
Dying right in front of you.
Time to hear the lessons on the wind.
Dying right before us,
Dying right in front of you.
Time to own the burden of our sins.
