He was a big-boned sixteen-hand blue roan

With a wild streak and coal-black eyes

They called him diablo, said he won't be rode

'Cause one by one they tried

And he'd let them go so far

But if they did not have the heart

He quit the ground

Pawed at the sky

And sent those cowboys ten feet high

Then he ran with wild abandon

And then one day out of nowhere there came

A long tall buckaroo

And all those cowboys said come on plowboy

Let's see what you can do

Well he did not say a thing

He just took hold of the reins

And they quit the ground

Pawed at the sky

That horse and plowboy went for a ride

And they fell in like old companions

Unbroke and unbranded

Call it love or call it magic

Maybe that's just what it is

Whatever it is they had it

Those two misfits just fit

Across the desert through the canyons
