Other Side

It's not that I'm not happy in my

Life as it is cuz I am and I know that it's

All a part of it all

I know I'm beyond blessed in the

Good and the bad and the chaos and madness

And things could be worse

(So then) Why does the grass look greener

On the other side (I should know better)

Why is it hard for me To just be satisfied (Why)

Cuz I know that when I get there

The only thing green will be my envy

I've been around the block

A time or twelve and I'd like to think that I've

Learned I've learned from it all

And in all of the learning

I sometimes neglect to retrospect

That God's never not provided

But when I step my foot upon

The weeds begin to choke my feet

The roses here don't smell so sweet

I hit the ground

And suddenly I look to find

The most wonderful yard in the world is mine
