I sit here at the canyon edge and ponder

What is time but an invention of man?

Slopes, precipices, rivers and wind tell me otherwise

I am but a blink of an eye, in their world of disguise

Uplift, earthquakes and volcanoes are your measure

Before me lie these chasms of carved pleasure

Inch by inch you chisel away the sublime

Only to be carried away, to another time

So when will relative time be set back to zero?

Who’s gonna come along to be the universal hero?

My Mayan calendar will be reset soon

Maybe it will happen, when we get another moon

What is time but an invention of God?

If you go back far enough what will you find?

One little mischievous ball that wants to explode

And create a thing called, Time à la Mode
