Not often was he eying

At the cones of spruce or fir.

When Josef came with Mary

To his birthplace Bethlehem

The inn was limitary

No bed or pillow sham.

But childbirth pains kept urging

And so witnessed ox and donkey

The swaddled infant lying

In a manger and no binky.
