Become Like a Tree

I spend a lot of time looking at nature, and one of the things that I really love is watching how trees grow Observing how they are aware enough of their surroundings to stretch their limbs out in the proper direction to get the most sunlight How they can be adaptable and move, however slowly, toward their goals And I think it's so inspiring to see that movement toward where you want to be and what you want to become I think that it's important to become like a tree, to become aware of your surroundings and be cognizant of where you plan on going because there will always be obstructions on your journey And you need to be aware of those obstructions Not necessarily to overcome them but to have ways around them because it's not about conquering all your issues, it's about navigating your way so you can collect the most energy so you can be the best person, the best version of you It's about finding a way to become that person you desire to be To become like a tree in another sense also means to move slowly, but incredibly deliberately To know where you're going, but also be open to the idea of changing that direction if another option comes along To be aware of what you're doing at all times and being mindful of your progress and your goals So, next time you look at a tree, observe how it grew Notice how it focuses its leaves on the side with more sun, how it extends its branches out to pierce the shade and the shadow and collect light from places that might otherwise be wasted, or used by a different plant Being aware of your surroundings in the creative space is equally important as being aware of your surroundings in the physical space Understanding your limitations and having a plan to productively move with them and beyond them is so valuable
