Not so long ago

I was afraid to even speak

For fear of destroying what I knew wasn't even there

But now, I can smile

Asking nothing of each other

We give much more than required

No pressure

No tension, no tears

Nothing but that beautiful, peaceful feeling

In each new day

I smile a little more

I sleep much better

I even dream an ace

Not afraid to speak or smile

And I dare to think

And even believe

That tomorrow

I will laugh
