To the Nines

I'm not having fun at this party

Wishing I stayed home

I could ask the man in the corner

He's been picking my brain all night long

I suppose I could leave any time

But I'm out and I'm dressed to the nines

I spent all my tips on a blouse I just stained

Another thing I have to explain

This drink is making me tired

And I don't think the poeple here like me

So I've been sitting and tending to the fire

It's times like these I almost regret not picking up a cigarette habit

Find better things to do with my hands

There's a good chance that he won't remember it

After all he can barely stand

Ain't it awful to always want more

I suppose I could leave any time
