Waiting In the Wings

Window stands open, It’s summer outside

But I still feel the chill running down my spine And I can’t explain why I feel like this way

And I can’t comprehend the rules by which I play

Oh won’t you tell me how you can walk on through Because I can’t understand this, why must I be so blue? Would you leave me waiting in the wings?

I want to understand what I’m supposed to do And I want to prevail like all the others do

The puppet outside puts on his armored clothes But the coward within is afraid of the war

What if the Reaper would come knock on my door? Could I escape or fall to the floor?

Then I would be waiting in the wings
