Little Floating Lights

 Last night I dreamt that you and I both died

 And that I couldn’t find you on the other side

 Looked like when I press my palms against my eyes

 All I saw was little floating lights

 In the darkness

 And you say you’ll still love me in the morning, even if I don’t remember why.

 Today I had a feeling in my bones

 The old forgotten burning of wanting to get stoned

 So I could fly above the valleys,

 scars down on my soul

 I didn’t want to tell you,

 I thought that you should know

 I kept my head down

 I kept my eyes closed

 I kept my mouth shut

 I kept my heart broke

 I’ll be fine

 I’m just losing my mind,

 Ain’t done me no good

 holding on to it.

 To stay out of the darkness

 Maybe I belonged there all this time...
