Beneath a Weeping Sky

Softly on the plain

The freely falling rain

Timeless, eternal

As far as I can see

Time passes by

Beneath a weeping sky

Rain starts to pool

Soon it will move

And carry me away

There are many gaps

Numberless faults

So many times I can't recall

And are they ever coming back

Or are they lost

Are they locked somewhere inside

Would that I could stay

Breathe in the sweet familiar air

Sun ever-shining here

I'll follow you down paths new and old

As I dream of all of the days

Gone by

I hear the call

The roaring of the falls

Welcome, inviting

The smell of sweet decay

Up above the sky

The sun will always shine

Enduring, eternal

A constant in my mind

Would that I could stay

Bathe in the warm familiar light

Sun ever-shining here

Euphoria lies heavy in the air

Through the fog of an aging mind

Breathe new life

As I age

The more memories are stirred

And yet they're hard to grasp

Falling and falling

It's like looking at your life

Through a painted glass

And thoughts compress like snow

To form one body

Now

This valley sleeps forever in my soul

Along with those I long to see
