Psalm at Journey’s End

People keep on telling me I’m mad but I confess

The brutal truth is clearer that I am just possessed

Please don’t ask me how I know or how I got this way

But freedom is a fleeting thing I heard the devil say

And I lost

Oh my dear brother, do not weep for me

I ask no favor for a common thief

So many chances I cannot pretend

I let myself be taken in now I’m trapped in this

Calling of my choosing like a Judas kiss

I am just an errand boy, nothing but a tool

But I let it happen like a simple fool
