Feel like I'd look a little different if you step too close

A heart like the moon is stuck waning

The sunken lights will never leave you full

I'd paint myself all over and I want to

Told my sister that I would if I just had the nerve

Am I stupid, am I terrified, I'd haunt you

Like our mortality was graded on a curve

You slur your speech when you feel frustrated

As if you adjusted your vocabulary to keep you sedated

As if your intrigue could have never been premeditated

And every time you talk to me, consider me self-medicated

You're either running your mouth or you're justifying nothing

Well, I might not be so good for you

But baby, someday I'll be good for something

So let's hang if you're not busy

Let's get drunk in the afternoon

You love dancing until you're dizzy

Disappear into your pointillistic moon

And I promise I'll never worry you

I'm only dying when I want to

I'll return again whether I can help it or not

Brush it off until tomorrow

The blue's elusive in the glow

I used to think I'd gotten used to feeling hollow

And lately I don't know

I found myself inside that painting

You think I'm stuck in here until

You hold your breath like your perception's changing

But it's made for you and I promise it never will
