Lost In Time

Once there were bluebells that grew in the wood

Wheat fields and sunflowers caught on the breeze

Summers we knew all gone… In time

Now I see the children who played in the fields

A boy and a girl by the edge of the stream

Perfectly still, both lost….in time

Now where are the meadows of innocent days?

Where are the songbirds who gave us their voice?

Just like the light

Memories fade

Away ….. in time

Cold as the nights that carry the storm

Deep within dreams in his arms keeping us warm

As sure as the wind finds its way through the trees

As certain as swallows come back in the Spring
