Why do the monks walk in circles, slowly, punks of holy spirit
talking simple truth reflecting reality
problem is how do you embrace zero suffering
when suffering is all you know?
slow as a sloth, wrap ׳round other time zones,
exist a little here, a little in higher worlds,
dimensions remain untold, realms remain folded
in a bold being's imagination,
free of possession, free of his thoughts,
energy finds its way down your breath,
the rest of everything else has to wait for later though
I know that later never knows, I hope
i know it takes a lot of time of simply looking at the wall,
i know it takes a lot of time of simply talking to myself,
i know a grape doesn’t turn into a vine
in one day
I stay I stay I stay I stay
Why do the monks walk in circles bare-feet
barely remembering the sound of the streets,
car honking, screams, people talking bleak,
kids playing, birds landing on the same grass
the sweet smell of caramel burning returning to dust
rusty nails in the walls of cold water flats (eaten by moth)
all the filth of the world, chew us and spit us again,
merciless city of pain,
why do the monks walk in circles when they leave all this behind
what do they find that can replace the modern tragedy
I guess I'll have to guess, I guess I'll have to wait,
I guess I’ll do my best at looking past the I in Irony
they told me; "Meditate music and vibes
meditate the dope beat of life happening all around
no one’s conducting here,
no one is stirring the soup
(And you wanna believe them so much)
I'm becoming my thoughts,
Do I wanna be mercy? glory and steal?
Do I wanna be magic and healing? bravery and fear?
Who are these fears but a button on the street,
but a peanut butter bitch,
but a burden on my knees,
but I better be careful but I better keep my backpack stacked neat,
(You never know when you’ll have to run)
They tell me: ‘sit still’.
They tell me to: ‘listen’.
They tell me: ‘how the traffic in your head happens?
Just keep driving. But stop hasting
you can escape as much as you want
Buty you’ll always be the one chasing.
