Start with goose fat, or lard,
or other animal oil,
place it into a cauldron,
and then bring to a boil.
Once it’s bubbling nicely,
and the head of a bat,
Nextly, into the mixture,
add an eye from a doe,
the beak of a raven,
and the blood of a crow...
A rattlesnake's rattle,
a fiddler crab’s claw,
a peacock’s tail feather,
and a scarlet macaw,
Seventeen (or so) bullfrogs,
and one whole sperm whale lung,
Then add all-purpose flour,
thick'ning oil to a roux,
and remove it from heat,
and then serve like a stew.
For ev'ry creature you meet,
you'll have the know-how to greet,
For the first thing they'll ask,
just so you could speak to them.
