There was this lie 

That started out white 

Hell what could it hurt 

If nobody heard  

Just your heart and mine 

 

Yeah, but that lie 

It grew like a vine 

Wrapped round my soul 

It wouldn't let go 

Yeah, the chokin' kind 

 

How could I be so blind 

 

When you know what you know 

But you can't face the truth

You deny every reason why  

So, you pull down the shade 

And you block out the light

The bold-faced kind
