Good morning class!
Good morning, Miss Delight!
Are you ready for a critter-riffic test day?
We sure are, except for CatNap
Maybe he's takin' night classes
Don't worry about CatNap, children, let's get started!
You're clever for your ages, but there's more to be known
For there's work and bills and wages outside your home sweet home
Before I check what you have learned, we'll hold a brief review
Of some calculations you might havе to do
Okay
What's two plus two?
Four bones to chew
Good, three plus three?
Six grapes for mе
Yep! Four plus four?
Seven critters I adore
Oh wait, forgot self-love, eight (that's great)
Now, five plus five?
Ten bikes to ride
Nice! Six plus six?
One Kickin' chick
That's not— I remember that, it's twelve
And two sevens are fourteen, two eights sixteen, two nines eighteen, two tens twenty
We get it, you're the smart one
You're all smart somehow
Now take the test and do your best
But don't you fret one bit
Your teacher's here to soothe your fears
And build up your wits
You might not get it all correct
But children that's okay
A problem you can't solve right now
You'll learn to solve one day
Time's up! Please put your tests in the grader!
Oh, I probably flunked
Nonsense, I'm sure you all did just fine!
Oh, no
Congrats, my friend, a perfect score
You're really the cat's meow (I am?)
No doubt you're capable of more
Than this classroom allows (hey!)
There's a program for smart kids like us to make us big and strong
You can ditch this class and grow up fast with me, just come along
Wait, I can skip class?
Well, skip ahead like CatNap did, but are you sure you're ready?
You did just write "cool" over the right bubbles on the test
And I aced it! I'm in CatNap! What do I do first?
Sleep (all riiieeeuuuggh)
Aw, lucky
Miss Delight, can I be big and strong, too?
Perhaps
I can't believe I missed a question
A ninety-five percent is still very good, Bubba
But it's not good enough
Let's move on to literature, children
Now Math is quite important, but it's not all you'll need
You won't go very far if you cannot write and read
Before I check what you have learned, we'll hold a brief review
Of some word formations you might have to brew (okay)
Spell "run" (R-U-N)
Got that one, spell "hop"
H-O-P to the top
Hey miss (yes?)
Are these on the test?
Well, some are!
Then forget the rest!
"Discombobulate"
D-I-S-C-O-M-B-U-L-A-Y-T (Why is this on a test for first graders? It hardly seems appropriate for their curriculum)
Did I get it?
Uh, it's on the test, I can't say
Then why are you wasting our day
Excuse me?
We've got tests to take, lady
We'll take the test and do our best
And get a perfect score
So we can pass this slow-lane class
And learn a lot more
Now, you might not get it all correct
But children that's okay
What you don't understand right now
You'll understand one day
Okay, time's up
Me first
No, me
I gotta know if I remembered everything
Got it
Now don't feel bad if none of you got a hundred this time
Again
Congrats, my friend, a perfect score
You're really the cat's meow (hooray)
No doubt you're capable of more
Than this classroom allows (her?)
There's a program for smart kids like us to make us big and strong
Rise above this class and grow up fast with me, just come along!
I can't believe it, I just guessed half the answers
Then clearly, Hoppy dear, you know you're not really—
A total genius, race you to the genius class, CatNap
I win
Well, children, this brings us to the last subject of the day, science
I only have one more chance for perfection
There's more important things than perfection, Bubba
And we'll never learn them without perfect scores
There's lots of ways that science helps us pull off neat tricks
Just hurry up and test us, I miss Hoppy and Kicks
Before I check what you have learned, we'll hold a brief review
Of some facts that you might want the answer to (finally)
Why does it rain?
A cloud's in pain? That's right
How many bones in your body?
Uh, ten? Right again!
Is Pluto a planet?
(Yep) that's not true
But I remember it's a planet too
You're lying to us
It's for your own good
Children need to learn at the pace they should
We need perfect scores
And I'm gonna get 'em for us no matter what it takes
Now Bubba dear, don't do something you'll regret
Oh heavens, chemical warfare, wait, this just smells like lemongrass
Yoink!
My answer book!
Hurry up, guys!
Just take the test and write these answers
A, B, C, A, D (stop that)
B, A, C, A, B, B, C, D, A, B, C, B, D (you're cheating)
You're sure to get a perfect score
And leave the class today
So drop 'em in the grader
And we'll all be on our way
No, it's too late
Here we go, critter crew
Congrats, just take us
Oh, very well
Wait, don't gas the whole room
How long have I been out for, huh?
Hey, teach, it's been forever
Sorry that you're alone
We're not that far away
In fact, we're near home sweet home
We learned a lot after we left
We learned so quickly, too
We learned so much we wish we never knew
We took the test and did our best
We really showed our stuff
For most, we passed
For some, alas
Our best was not enough
We messed up bad, grew up too fast
But it'll be okay
A problem we can't solve right now
(We'll learn to solve one day)
