Working for the Man

Well it\'s 6am and I\'ve gotta get up and moving

And try to hit the road as early as I can

I\'ve gotta hot hard dirty workday waiting for me

Heaven help me I\'m working for the man

I\'ve got worn out sweat stain steel toe red wings work boots

Ive got callouses and scares on both my hands

I\'m proud that I\'m so rough around the edges

that how you look when you\'re working for the man

By the time I finally make it to the weekend

I\'ve had all of this damn job that I can stand

But I\'ll be right back to the grind come Monday morning

that\'s the price you pay working for the man

The new guy that im training is sure is struggling

there\'re things I just don\'t think he understands

He tries hard but I don\'t he\'s gonna make it

That\'s how it goes when you\'re working for the man

By the time I finally make it to the weekend

Now its 6pm and the day is finally over

I\'ll head home sore worn out that I am

there\'s four more days ahead to earn my paycheck

That\'s my life working for the man
