Here I go again, this story never ends, I think I'm losing the plot

A hero's quest, a castle to the west, a dragon lurks in the dark

Then they break the spell every time

Then they ride away into the night

Storytime's ending and I'm getting older

I don't wait for heroes anymore

Some nights, when the cold gets in

I get swept up with the wind

It blows too hard and I make sparks

I fall apart and it's dark

I'll stay 'til the walls cave in

And there's nothing left to win

Lost in the wind, a crumbling heart

Here I go again, I go then I regress, I had it wrong from the start

If every move's a bet or just best guess, how does anyone tell things apart?

How everything go, in the end?
